15 to 50

Friday night was spent in the garage Matt and myself installed an auto-decompression in Dan's YZ250F. With Matt's knowledge this went off without a hitch. This is really going to help Dan in his starts during the races.  Then we drank Matt and I seem to be doing that a lot latley.
Saturday night everyone in the family went to the Lacey elks to attend a ceremony to see Jeanmarie become the exalted ruler. It was a good time we danced and a good time was had by all.
Now the day we all been waiting for was yes you guessed it.  (SUNDAY RIDE DAY). We had eight guys out this time and we had a great time. Keith's Son went out with us and was a little slow in the beginning but quickly got up to a comfortable speed and will be a welcome addition to the ride crew. There was really nothing that really is worthy of a story but hell isn't that a good thing. Just men out on their machines having a great time. Lots of us had a get off or two and in some cases four or five not saying any names Matt but we all fared well and all returned on our own machines in one piece.

CCFG Jay races

This weekend was all about the races NEOC. Saturday was spent tweaking and fine tuning then test riding the awesome Husqvarna 250 two stroke WR woods weapon. After that Dan and I moseyed over to Matt's garage under the false pretense of chilling out and watching Supercross. Well looky here!!! Matt's bike is in total crap hole status. "But never fear friendly neighbors are here” Matt states. Showing us a large box of assorted new plastic and metal to give the old RMZ a face lift. So off we went with wrenches spinning converting the old washed up sand scrapper into a fine modern, gleaming, yellow, woods winning racing machine.

Sunday was race day so off to Millville and we rolled early A.M. Matt, Kenny, Rods, and my race was first up. All was in attendance for the first race of the year. Sherrie, Jessica with two of her friends Kerry and Sara. Joe was present as pit crew and as a ever reminder with his freshly broken ribs to ride smart out there.

The race got off with Kenny crashing in the first 100 yards taking him out of the race early on. Other then Kenny everyone did OK. The lap times with the positions are in the table below. We were all in different classes starting a minute apart for each other.

 Pos/Jay/time    Pos/Matt/time        Pos/Rod/time

11th 20:23       25th 18:57               8th 18:44

16th 20:17       24th 19:34               7th 17:49

18th 20:47       23rd 20:23               7th 17:52

19th 21:48       23rd 19:18               7th 17:41

21st 24:12       22nd 19:49               8th 18:32
I didn't post Dan's times because he's too fast to race in our "C" class and elected to race the main event. Where the track is longer so we would be comparing apples to oranges so his times are not present. Besides that his race was unbelievable. This is his first race in the main class and he did great. He got off to a bad start and was in last place going into the woods. Then he battled back to a respectable 11th place passing at least 13 A/B riders in doing so.
I was happy with my performance other then I wished I didn't slow down and allow people to pass on the last two laps. I kept thinking the fast guys where lapping me and getting out of their way was the correct thing to do. Next race "NO MORE MISTER NICE GUY"   Wow after analyzing the numbers here for a few minutes Rod's old Irish ass kicked some butt this race. Good Job

Friday Ride :)

Took the day off and did a little riding. Dan was riding the new 2002 YZF250 to see if he feels comfortable on this four stroke instead of the husky. He likes this bike better then the Husqvarna WR250 two stroke which makes the Husky my ride till further notice.
We really had a good time. I haven't rode a 250 two stroke in many years. I have to say it felt like I was home again. The power is a blast and just the light nimbleness of the machine was a forgotten enjoyment. I was playing in the soft sand doing donuts and drifting around in circles for a while. What a fine machine the WR is.

New Bike

Check out the new machine me and Dan picked up today. 2002 YZF250 Dan has to decide what bike he's going to race and me the old man gets what ever is left. I hope he picks the YZF I really like the WR.
Who looks better on the YZF?  Dan does right?
