Dan's Graduation Party

            This weekend was Dan's graduation Party. These parties are a lot of work and I can honestly say I'm glad it's over.
Everyone who was important to Dan showed up and some lovely family that we don't get to see enough was there also. It was a very successful party and it was the tail end of a five day heatwave in NJ so the heat was pretty bad but other then that all was good.

I been away from here

I don't know what happened but I been away from here for a awhile. I think it's because I went on my Man vacation on June 21st 2013 and there is so many pictures I can't organize them between the 3 guys taking picture I'm over whelmed with digital info. We went to the usawal Smokey mountain trip and it was OK. I think I need to do something else I think the Man trip has run it's coarse as they say.

When I look at the pictures it really was fun but, I think maybe I'm getting to old to find fun in running from the rain for a week. I'll post a link and some details about the trip later when I sorted through all the pictures.

we pretty much played in NC today and TN there's a road that they call the snake that is RT58 wow what a trip it was hauling ass down that road. My phone took a shit today and it was interesting using the maps and everyone else's idea of where to go today- Honestly. I swear laughing in the hotel room was one of my favorite times.

ut great. We did about 500 miles and we ended up in Roenoke Va. We rode across the Poa turnpike till we banged a left on 81. We rode that till route 56 which is close till the first entrance on to the BRP. What a great road. We stopped and had llunch at this at this little country eatery. Friday ride.

Rod and I went for an after work ride yesterday. It was cool we went to the boards in the pines. A walkway bilt on top of  swamp in the jersey pines. Then we split up and I rode home in the dark by myself through the woods. Wow do things look different  in the dark.

After work ride

Me and Dan took a after work ride today. We were looking for tree frogs because we heard weird noises and not knowing what they sounded like that was our guess. I decided to look up tree frog on the internet to see if what we heard was them. So I have a tree frog chirping on you tube and I walk up and hold the phone over Dan's head. OMG he jumped and ran like heck thinking I had one in my hand.

easter weekend 3 days off

Had 3 days off which were spent riding with Dan on the new Honda. Dying eggs with the girls. All in all a good long weekend.

New Bike

Bought me a 2013 Honda CRF250L So far I put about a 100 miles on the bike and I'm very happy with it. I have gone trail riding and took it to work. I also changed the front sprocket down one tooth to a 13 tooth. I gave up a little top end speed but it was worth it. The bike handles much better in the trails. $5300 out the door not to bad. I'm happy with it. 

    Me and Dan took it out to the trails on the way home from the store on day one. He dropped it and that makes me laugh. Dan reminded me that I fell over the very fist day I rode his CRF150R a few years back. ) Pay Backs a Bitch) 

Jersey Coast Ride

Dan and I had to make a trip up to see Bob from Cental Jersey Cycles today so I had him drop me at the beach that is a mile or so south of Long Branch. The plan was to peddle the bike to seaside and just cruise the coast. Not because I wanted to see the storm damage from Super Storm Sandy but because that's my beach and I love to drive down it. I have on a number of occasions taken the motorcycle on a similar route.  I made it the whole way and my legs and butt are a little sore but it was a fun trip. I can't believe how much enjoyment I get out of peddling my bike.  The Picture Are Here

DID SOMETHING COOL ( FINALLY)

I had a pretty nice weekend. Saturday Mike Connor and Brian Dekker two of my brothers best friends and working partners came over to my Mom's house to do some plumbing work. Afterwards we all went out for lunch and it was just nice that four people that were very close to Joe could hang out and laugh. It really was nice that all of us just laughed and told stories and were able to bring up past experiences with out getting choked up. I don't think I realized how important that meeting was to me and in my healing process till I just wrote about it. (OW hail the mighty BLOG)

          Sunday ( Super Bowl Sunday)  I met Rod at his house and we drove up to Newburgh NY to visit motorcyclepedia. It's a museum that I have looked at many times on the internet and despite the website being  kind of bland I still thought it would be something cool to see. It also helped that Kamikaze Pit Lengner was there with the Wall of Death

So we had this really great time. The motorcycles in the museum were all very interesting to me and my Buddy Rod. We then went out to lunch at this cool place Torches on The Hudson. It was just a nice day to spend with a good friend.

joe joe

Man, my brother passed away sometime on the morning of the 25th of November 2012. He called me up on that Saturday the 24th and we hung out Saturday night. We called it a early night because I didn't want to party to hard so we only hung for a few hours then I split. I never knew leaving that he would pass away that night and I would be with out him for the rest of my life. It's so sad and it just burns my heart. I really love him he was always my best friend. He never swerved he was my big brother and he never let me down. I miss him terribly RIP my dear Brother JOE.

Thanksgiving

We were suppose to go tho Joe's for Thanksgiving and a few weeks before that 3rd Thruday in November we decided to have the feast at my house. When we asked Joe if that was OK His comment was Hell yes okay thank go for that. So we had the usual great Dinner that Sherrie cooked up for all of us. After dinner Joe asked his girl friend Dennis to come over for a after dinner coffee. I think he wanted to introduce My mom to  his new girl that he seemed to be quickly falling for.  We had no after dinner pool table playing this year O-well maybe we'll give that a shot again in 2013.

Sandy

Life around here has been upset lately by the SUPER STORM known as Sandy. My house received no damage but the surrounding area has been slightly upset to complete devastation. I think I want to write about this because I don't want to forget the sequence of events the took place. Hell if I don't write it down in 10 years the story will get so exaggerated there's no telling the crap that will be coming out of my forgetful mouth. :)  The morning of the 28th of October 2012 we know the storm if coming and Dan is bothering me to go out to the ocean. So around Noonish we head on out to seaside. I had no idea that seaside heights, NJ would be one of the hardest hit towns on the NJ coast. We took a couple video's and a few pictures got in trouble for trying to fly a kite then we soon left. As I look back I feel sad about the destruction one of my favorite towns took. Maybe I would of looked a little harder took more pictures I don't know It just bothers me that I just didn't know how bad it was going to get hit. They where making everyone get off the island by 4 pm so we left minutes after arriving.

So we went home got Jessica and went out to again to watch Dan try to fly a kite. It started to rain and I think the beginning of Sandy was just starting to arrive.
    The night passed and I don't think there was much bother. In the morning it was coming but we where still just checking things out. Me and Sherrie woke up fairly early and went for a ride to see what the Toms River looked like. ( I'm continuing to write this I can't remember when I first started this post post since then Thanksgiving, Xmas and the passing of my best friend and truely loved  Brother took place. It's now   1/14/2013 and I have to continue with my life so I'm back to writing again which is something that I find enjoyment in.So back to my original Storm Story)  Me and Sherrie took some pictures and the rain which was off and on but pretty much just a windy raining morning. Then me and Dan went and got my Brother Joe and his Son Patrick to go play around in the windy rainy conditions. (See the pictures and the end of the post) We dropped off Joe and Patrick and

went home to sit out the Storm. Them Jessica woke up and I felt like I should of took her with us because we had so much fun with Joe and Patrick. So off me and Jessica went. All I can say is wow did things deteriorate in a couple of ours. We went over to the water and it was scary *( We almost locked the keys in the car and that area was under water shortly after we were there. Trees and branches were down on houses. I remember speeding past a section or road because it looked like these 3 trees were leaning in such a way that  you knew they were going to fall on the street.
     After I look back I think as a father I took my daughter out in a very dangerous time when I should of been home. Some hurricane pictures.

Me and Joe took a nice ride to Jacks house in villas, NJ (ON THE BIKES) The pictures are here. It was a really good trip we stayed the night and had fun partying with the Villas Boyles. Joe had a flat on the way home right around mile marker 38 and I called Dan and he came to the rescue with a valve and we got Joe up and running again. 
When I got home we all went Apple picking and that always is a good time. I really enjoy the time I get to spend with MY Family the STR Boyles.  Here are the pictures

It was a good time we left from The Cabin and went to The Hedger House. It was about a fifty mile trip that ended in a decent rain storm. It was Ok as it was only a couple miles from home once the rain started.

Labor Day Weekend

Mike,Catia,Joe and myself rode to Delaware to visit Dekker. Joe got a flat on the way there other then that it was as expected. We rode, hung out, laughed and ate a good Dinner. Check out the pics here.

Bicycle Rider

           

 I went out on a bicycle journey this weekend. My plan was to ride the Pennsylvania D & L Tow path up the PA side get a campsite then peddle home the next morning. Well when I got to my destination to get a campsite they were all full. So I got a sandwich at this really cool little place and contemplated my choices. I was kinda happy with myself for not really caring that I had to come up with a alternate idea and I wasn't worrying myself about it.  

             So I crossed the river into the Jersey side and decided I would peddle at a leisure pace and get as close to home as possible and make a phone call and ask for a pick up. I was able to make it back to my original drop off point and Dan drove back 12 hours latter from the drop off time to pick me up.( He's a good kid) . I really had fun stopping off and talking with people as I mad my way north up the tow path. 

      

 I really got a kick out of the picture to the left of someone painting the scenery . At one point I made my way to the river down below and went for a swim. All said and done it was a 70 mile bicycle trip which I think I'm proud of.

FISH ON

Went fishing with Sherrie last night. We had a lot of fun and it was something different to do. Especially for Sherrie as she never been on a party boat.

       Sunday was spent hanging out with my daughter Jessica. We don't get a chance to hang out very often but when we do we always have a great time together. We took Mason to the popcorn park zoo then we went swiming in the cedar stream. We had so much fun swimming we went home and got the dogs and invited my brother Joe and his dog to join us. Me and Sherrie went to the balloon festival in Readington NJ. We had a good time in was really cool to see all the balloons go up at one time. I think there was about a 100 or so. Then we went to Karen's and chilled by the pool and I drank to much. All the pictures are here 

Tony and took off to go find Kentucky by way of West Virginia. Yea that didn't work out very good. We got chased east by storms and then had to call it quits and head back to the truck located at this cool dudes house Joe who let us park at his place in Front Royal Va.
    It was a pretty cool trip we were able to get to the highest point in WV where Tony was able to scatter his brothers ashes so mission accomplished. If you look at the video there were some cows on the road to the top trying to hamper our mission.

Only in W.V. are cows walking down the road. I was scared to ride  past them.

  Maybe I'll have to check out Kentucky by way of North Carolina next time. Ow I'll get there one way or another. Here are the rest of the pics

The Weekend is off to a good start

Did a little after work ride yesterday. Now that I'm kind of grounded as far as the dirt bikes go I'm doing a little more street riding lately. I'm also having fun playing with the smart phone / Google maps thing. I think I wanted to post this more because I figured out how to insert the ride on the Blog and if I don't do it a couple of times I'll forget. (Signs of age and a misspent youth)

The Poconos

Last weekend 5/12/2012 Tony and I went up to the Poconos to go do a little riding in that area. We  trailered the bikes to East Stoudsburg Pa.after work on Friday  got a hotel and sat down and drank a few. Here's one funny thing that happened at the bar. Tony is insisting on doing shots but as he leaves to use the men's room I assure him I'll have double shots lined up at the bar when he gets back. Upon his arrival we toast to a great ride tomorrow and down the hatch goes the double of poison for Tony and unbeknown to my comrade I was doing a double shot of tap water.
       Saturday we awoke quite early and went for our just short of a 300 mile ride. I was navigating roads that I found using my new phone and mapping system. Everything went easy and soon we were at our destination of RT87 in PA. We travel some time across 87 then Tony brought us back to the truck using his simple arrow GPS. This turns out to be a fun way to navigate as we found some hidden gems. The trip was a 100 percent success in our book and we sure will be returning to this area again

Dan Racing

         This weekend Dan and I trucked up to Candor, NY which is about 4.5 hours away so he could race. It was a mountainous area and I couldn't help but thinking that I'm happy I don't have to race up in them hills. It did look like fun but I'm happy being the driver and pit dude. I think this racing thing is really for the young.  All the picture are in Flickr you can find them here. Dan got 10th which isn't his best finish but no injuries for him and all the guys we met up there Matt,Jim Lasko, Rod, Joe,and Keith. All in all it was a good trip.

Easter was spent at Seaside with Family and Saturday was spent doing a ride into Bucks County PA. I had Friday off and I just putzed around the house. I also had a doctors appointment and I thought he was going to release me and say, "go young warrior do what ever you want now". Boy was I wrong he said, "don't do anything stupid old man and most of all stay off that dirt bike, I'll see ya in two months"
