Good Weekend. NYC motorcycle show

This weekend was the NYC Motorcycle show. Matt, Tony, Rod. and Dan and I all drove up in one car to Weehawkin to catch the NY Waterways Ferry over to Pier 39 which is right behind the Jacob Javits Center. We had a good time at the show taking turns sitting on all the new models that we want.

and looked at all there is to see at the show

After the crowd got to much for us we strolled around NYC went out for lunch and pretty much had a good time.
Then for some reason we had to get on the road sooner then we wanted to.

I have fun going there every year with all my buddies who ride with me though out the year.  I always enjoy checking out the new line of bikes out there for my future purchases.

Sunday was a mellow day as Jessica and me took the dogs out for a run

Then in the after noon it was time to paint Dan's room. It was suppose to be a fast easy job it didn't help that right before we left to go get paint me and Dan were horsing around and his butt went through the wall. Yea Yea, Yea, get a 4' by 8' of sheet rock while I'm at Home Depot.

You can check out all the pics of the weekend on flickr at this LINK

Blizzard

That's Jessica's car. The little dark spot you see is the rear view mirror
We got some snow here in NJ. I bet we got about 3 feet. Had a few days off because of it so that's OK with me. Pretty much made the best of it. Had fun digging out and had fun going sleigh riding. Our sleighing hill is getting worn down by the weather I think we need to find a new one. Here are the pictures of day one and day two of the storm.

Christmas 2010

I been off since Friday and today is Tuesday. Yea!!!  First Christmas fell on a Saturday this year so I got Friday off then there was a serious Blizzard on Sunday that was so bad I'm still off on Tuesday giggle giggle. Christmas was very nice this year. We had no major WOW presents like last year with Jessica's car but it was still very fun. After we opened up our presents my Mom came over then the Bopps and all the Homeys from next door. We all had a nice mellow Christmas. Then the snow came and it was really coming down hard I bet we got 2 feet I don't think I'm exaggerating it was quite a lot of snow. You can see all the picture at these three links

Popped up out of dated place

Saturday morning me and Jessica took out the dogs for a walk. I think taking the dogs for a walk is like therapy for me. I just enjoy wasting a few hours of just making Heidi happy and not worry about anything that is on my schedule.
Sunday was a early morning dirt bike ride. We planned to go out at 8am and look around for a different loop which eight being a little early for everyone but it seemed to work out good. When we returned at 11:30-12:00 you still felt like the day was not over and you could still take advantage of the many hours of daylight left. Took some fun pictures

FIRE

Jack and Patty's house burnt up on the early morning hours of Tueday 12 /7/ 2010. It's a sad time I'm not sure how the fire started so I won't speculate but it appeared to of travel into the attic where it waited until it had a arsenal of oxygen and fuel. When it was fully loaded is when it attached and almost took three loved family members one being the youngest away from us. That is about all I know other then it was a accidental fire and everyone got out alive. Except the two little dogs.

Jack was air lifted to Temple university where he was treated for smoke inhalation. He was released the next day and when I talked to him he sounded well and ready to tackle the long road ahead.  I can tell you one thing I learned. When the smoke detectors goes off that is not the start of the fire. When you are awaken by that screech you run for your lives because you might only have seconds or it might be to late. Click here for the pictues that Shawn took and some I took off the the news article.

Turkey Day at the Boyle House

Another successful Turkey day. Thank you to my wife and all the Turkey elves that helped cook a wonderful dinner once again. This is easily my favorite holiday of all.  Let's just say this is the one day a year that men get to be men in my pathetic house where my wife rules the roost. The high lite in my book was when Matt challenged Johnathan to a pool game and they bet shirts. Matt won and I thought the two drunk dudes were going to go to blows when Johnathan reneged on giving Matt his seriously bright ass orange shirt.
That's the world famous orange shirt

Six in Six out

My Riding Buddies
Keith, Tony, Dan, Myself, Matt, Kenny
Had a really good ride today. Everyone arrived on time and we had the kick stands up at 12:00 noon just as we planned on. (I was just wondering) I'm not saying this is the reason we got off on time I'm just saying. Do you think it could of been that the forever late Irish man was not present. Nahh That's not the reason......  So we head out and the pace is aggressive right off the bat. Dan comes up along side of me and  not to be out done I grab a handful of throttle. I was looking fit, fast and ready to not let the young one past me on his new bike. Through the puddle side by side we go. That's when something happened to the Old Fat Guy. A major bounce sent me flying up over the handle bars. I was admiring my clean plastic of the front fender when I bounced some how back on the seat. Like a pissed off neutered bull the Husky bucks again and sent me for a second look at the front fender. Thinking with lightning reflexes I headed for the smaller sapling pine trees. Banging into them for a few dozen yards I got spit out on to the soft sand of the pine barren trail. Thinking that was one hell of a long crash the guys behind me must of enjoyed those antics. Then I hear the sound of a fast approaching two stroke. Oh no this is usually the part of the story where I get my butt run over by the guy behind me. As I brace for impact I see Matt and a yellow RMZ250 go flying over me and it doesn't look pretty as bike and Matt crash to the ground missing me by inches.
The rest of the ride was fun as we passed each other all day with less dramatics results then the first 10 minutes. Great ride Matt, Dan, Keith, Tony, Kenny and myself. Here's the pictures from the days ride look at how screwed up Matt's bike got avoiding some fat ass laying in the middle of the trail.
Thanks Dude I appreciate the wreck you took avoiding me.

Rally Cross 11-07-2010

Out of no where a good weekend arises. Saturday I was up early to go watch the sunrise. Yea I know I been doing that on a regular basis but hell I’m doing so little drinking anymore I'm a wake like a old grandfather dude anymore. So that was cool then I did a little stuff on the (To Do List). Then me and Dan went out to look at a few dozen motorcycles that I have my eye on as his next steed.

Sunday I had plans to take Dan, James, Rod and Dan’s friend Mike to go watch the rally car races at the new Millville track NJMP. Not expecting to much excitement so I wouldn’t be let down considering it is just car racing.  Man was that a fun day. We got a bunch of swag (Free Shit) and the racing was really exciting. At the end of the race Dan sneaked into the winner circle to hob knob with the drivers. I’m starting to expect that type of shenanigans from him anymore. It was a fun day and I’m really happy we attended this event. The pictures from the day are here

Halloween 2010

This weekend was the town Halloween parade. So I wasn’t really looking forward to sitting in the cold watching the parade but a brother does what a brother has to do. Then Joe price called me and asked if I would like to ride in the back of his army truck that he just recently purchased. Hell yea, reprieve from the boring. So I gathered some kids Dan, Annemarie, James, Mike, and we also invited Rod. We all wore camouflage and I put on an Obame masked and I went as the Commander and Chief of the free world. What a blast I had being Obama while driving on top of the duce and half military truck. Slideshow

Prior to that in the morning Sherrie and I walked around town to look at the PICTURES the kids from High School Toms River South painted on the local establishments down town. Jessica did one the painting this year so it was a special treat.

Of course I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t manage to get a ride in. Sunday morning was ride day so we awoke early and went out to get our fix in before the tricker treater’s starting arriving around 3pm. The ride was not the best. I crashed in the slick mud behind the airpark then the bike wouldn’t re-start so we bumped it and I limped home with a bike that was unable to restart and a fork that was leaking fork oil all over the place. . Danny came home shortly after I arrived home complaining his bike is also running terrible. Not good I see money signs.

Woke up early this morning and rode the KLR to Seaside to watch the sun rise.  With out sounding all corny and shit about how beautiful it was let me just say it was cool. If you live close to the ocean you should wake up early one day and go check it out for yourself. I took more pitures you can find them HERE

West Virginia Man trip

Drove down to Seneca Rocks  West Virginia Tuesday 10/6/2010 after work. Pretty much a uneventful ride but hell isn't that what you want when traveling. Woke up Wednesday to a day that looked like it was going to rain all day long. So me and Tony decided this would be a good day to drive up to Spruce Knobb the highest point in WV to see snow yea SNOW. It made for great pictures and a fun story but truth be told it was windy, cold and freaking snowing up on that mountain. Pretty much what every sane biker avoids at all costs rolled up into one lovely place. It was really alot of fun I guess when two morons are doing what morons do best there's alot of laughter involved.
The rest of the week was as the local hilly billy's would say (In my best southern draw) Ya boys ar lucky yall came down here this week it shaw is a perrty around these here parts wit de sun shining so.
We drove some great twisty roads and some cool back roads. Visited some neat places Blackwater was a nice state park where a cool water fall is located but mostly we where there to ride the roads. The place is really cool with switchbacks. Below is just one roads we rode while down there.

The trip was a sucsess to say the least. Ow yea I almost forgot to tell you where we stayed the place is called Yokums vacation land I really had no problem but Tony is starting to be a prima donna Yea, it appears he needs water presure (Real men don't need water) .Ow yea and the trucks seemed to bother him also. Classy joint I tell ya. Me and Tony took a crap load of pictures here. The youtube video is here

NEOC Race at Cumberland County Fair Grounds

Dan had a race this weekend. He did really well especially considering he was sick all weekend. He just looked good the whole race. He fell a couple of times be he kept charging always making up the lost time for his mishaps. He finished 11th and that was the best he could of done given the mishaps that just sometimes happens while racing. The real racers just keeps charging till the checker flag drops and that was Dan's race ethnics this day.
But the real race this weekend was the shit talking duo better know as Kenny and Matt. Them guys always talk crap to each other and it's quite comical at times. Kenny's didn't fair well at his last race and this just fueled the fire of Matt's shit talking. But as the old saying goes what comes around goes around and this time it did because Kenny just dominated this whole race. Matt on the other hand riding on his new RMX seen better days to say the least. He had a broke head light and missing blinkers and the look of a beaten man coming off the line to say the least. Then the next day to just throw salt on Matt's wounds Kenny's picture is in one of the local newspaper websites. It was a good day at the races today but, I can't spend to much time writing I want to go on face book and catch up on the shit talking that I'm sure is going on. The next race is just around the corner and the crap is bound to of started already.  I took some  cool pictures and video here

New Motorcycle Weekend

Got me a great looking 2002 KLR with 1160 miles on her this Friday. I really like those KLR's they seem to fit my motorcycle needs great. I always said if I had to have just one bike it would be the KLR but in the same hand if I had to get rid of just one bike it would be the KLR. You have to be a rider with multiple bikes to understand that statement.
I also went Canoeing with Jessica,Dan and Mike it was a lot of fun. I enjoy going out on the canoe with my kids. Mike was in a Kayak them things look like a lot of fun maybe I'll get one of those some day. Check out the planet of the apes head being used as a canoe hood ornament.

Dan had a race on Sunday in Millville, NJ his bike was starting first kick that day of the race. Then the flag drops and it's race time and of course the bike takes 5 kicks. That puts Dan in last place going into the first turn. He made a great come back and finished 6th out of 28 riders. It was a fun day Sherrie,Jessica, Carrieann,Mike and myself all attended the race he had quit the entourage.

3 day weekend

Labor Day weekend the unofficial end of the summer was pretty cool. Saturday was spent "Nesting" Yea I'm getting a nice used KLR650 with only 1161 miles on the odometer. So I spent the first day of the weekend preparing my garage for the new MACHINE.
Sunday was a great trip to Zarco Lakes in Manchester. Tony Dan and myself rode dirt bikes over there and it was a good trip. I undressed out of my riding gear and went swimming when we first arrived. Then we kind of raced around the outer banks. That was fun you have sand to your left and certain doom to your right.
Monday was beach family day Gene, Mason,Annmarie,James,Dan, Jessica, Sherrie and Myself all headed to Island beach state park for the day. My family always enjoyed the beach and I'm just starting rediscover the joy of a beach day.

MOTO-338

Me and Dan picked up Dylan and headed up to Southwick Mass.to watch the motocross national at Moto-338. We had a great time the whole trip was cool. The high lites where getting a great picture with The Man Mr. Rodger DeCoster.
another was when Dan and Dylan got into the VIP tent where there was free food and soda. I went back to the car for something and Dan calls me laughing telling me he's in this tent. Then he goes up to the security and asks if he can have a pass for his Dad who just drove in from Ohio. So there we are eating like kings

Not only does the kid sneak in he gets a pass for his Dad got to love that kid.
The racing was good it's always better to watch a race on television but it's the atmosphere of hanging out with your own kind that's fun. All in all the weekend was a blast and you can check out all the pictures HERE Ow yea after the race we drove to Karen's house where Sherrie Jessica and her friend Carrie was already there and we hung out over her house till the morning.

Joe goes dual sporting

Click on the picture for the link
Yea Joe went out with me and Tony duel sporting this weekend. I told him it was a old man run and it would be a great break in time for him to take out the XR650L. I had to take it easy on him look at the dirt riding gear the man sports. Stupid harley binnie type helmet, short sleeve shirt. We had a blast out there keeping it pretty mellow by not going down to many tight trails. It was a fun ride and we all enjoyed ourselves and that my friend is what life's all about.

Fun Without Motorcycles

All the beautiful people

Littles and Bigs

The machine
Mr. Clyde and Miss Beatrice
I don't know if it's because I'm getting old and tired but sometimes getting geared up to go dirt bike riding is just to much of a hassle. Maybe it's because it's been hot out but I feel like I've been doing a lot less dirt biking lately. So anyway Saturday was the Bopp girl party. WOW what a blast I really had a good time and all their friends seem to be nice kids. I say kids but they're really young adults who are out protecting our country teaching our children and all sorts of jobs. A nice bunch of Kids. Then Sunday morning I woke up and took Jessica, Dan and the dogs out to one of the cedar streams and hung out and swam in the cool water like real pineys. Then me and Dan visited Nanny then we went to Turkey swamp and rented a paddle boat. I had a fun weekend and didn't go riding at all. (Imagine That) As usual I took many photos

Fishing Jef's party and Karens

Fishing

Hanging with friends
Friday night and in to the wee hours of Saturday was spent fishing from the party boat Miss Belmar. Sat we went to Jef Stile’s Party. It was cool they had a band this year and it was fun. I Seen John McGacken and Russel Taylor two old high school friends so that was a unexpected surprise. Then me and Sherrie drove up to Karen’s house to get completely smashed hanging out by the pool. Sunday we drove home and went to Dan’s baseball picnic. That was cool because James and Mason where also ball players this year so I had some cool photo opportunities with my favorite boys. So that was the fun filled weekend and that’s why there is such a arrangement of photo's
and that concludes todays activities

Berkshire Race

Spent the weekend camping and going to Dan's race in Berkshire NY, It was a fun trip Rod rode up with us and Matt came late after work. Showing up at 4am in the morning to race just a few hours later ( Youth is a wonderful thing) Dan had a terrible start but, was showing great progress in lap 1. He checked in at 5th place on the first lap passing at least 10 people. That was pretty much the hi-light of the race as things shortly deteriorated from there. A pile up on a hill and a wicked crash that broke his camera off his helmet and damaging his visor was the ending hope for a great result. He managed to pass a couple of people to salvage a 9th place finish for the day.
Rod faring much better scored a 2nd on his race letting that ever elusive first place finish slip by. He practically had a hole shot in the start and was first in lap one. Me and Dan where hopeful for a first place finish for Rod until he was passed in the second lap.
Matt ran strong all day not allowing rod to pass him through most of the race. (Note Rod's class starts 1 minute behind Matt's class) Quite an accomplishment considering he was passed in lap one of the last and inaugural race for Matt. He is young and keeps getting faster I'm sure he'll be kicking every one's ass soon. He finished 10th over some serious looking competition. Check out the pictures from the weekend or look at the video
